How to take the test

Using Typing Test Pro is very simple. All you need the typing test link that the test administrator shares with you and follow the instructions.

There will be five steps in the typing test process

Step 1. Test information page

This page tells who the organizer of the test is, typing test duration, the number of attempts you have  and what the pass limits are, if used.

Step 2. Candidate information

Fill in your first and last name and functional email address so that the test administrator can find your test result and contact you, and at your option, receive your test results by email.

You also need to give consent to storing your personal information. TypingTest Pro user data is stored on an cloud database, located in the USA. Your information is collected for the purpose of conducting the typing tests. The data controller is the organization that conducts the testing and contact person is the test administrator. 

If you make a mistake in your name, email or other information asked, please contact the test administrator who will be able to modify it.

TypingMaster Inc. the TypingTest Pro service provider, is processing data on behalf of the registrar and is responsible for the application and its infrastructure and securing your data at transfer and storage.

Step 3. Practice test

Use the one-minute practice test to warm up and get familiar with the typing test application. You can take the practice test as many times as you like, the results are not stored and do not count as attempts.

You can also choose to skip the practice.

Step 4. Typing test 

1. Review the test information and when ready, click on Start test to begin. 
   If you don't want to receive results by email, you can switch off emailing on this page.
2. Wait until the test is fully loaded before starting to type. Keep typing the text until time is up. You may correct mistakes using backspace.
3. When time is up, you will be shown your result. If you have attempts left, you can start a new attempt now or come back later for another try. 

Important! Opening the typing test starts the attempt. If you choose to interrupt the test, you still have used up one attempt but results will not be calculated. You may want to interrupt if you have attempts left and for some reason this round is not up to your usual level.

Note: You will receive the test result by email automatically unless you choose not receive them before starting the attempt.

Step 5. Summary

The summary page shows your best result from all attempts and the information you've filled in. You can now close the page.
